About Yassin Abdel Ghafar Hospital
In 1999, Dr. Yassin Abdel Ghaffar established a hospital for liver diseases in Nasr City named "Dr. Yassin Abdel Ghaffar Al-Khairy Hospital for Liver Diseases and Research." The hospital aims to: -
- Providing excellent medical service for both capable and incapable liver patients.
- It aims to organize scientific conferences and train doctors, technicians, and nursing staff to keep up with scientific developments in the field of liver diseases.
- Addressing liver diseases in the early stages to avoid complications.
- Raising awareness and implementing preventive programs to address the causes of liver diseases.
The hospital includes outpatient clinics, And specialized outpatient clinics for children. And an endoscopy unit. And a radiology department. And a medical laboratory for analysis. And an inpatient department. And an emergency department. And a specialized clinic for liver tumors.

Medical Services

Diagnostic Radiology
The unit started actual operation in 2015. The unit has an area of 250 square meters and specializes in treating liver tumors through interventional surgeries.

Interventional Radiology
The unit is staffed by a group of radiologists & interventional radiologists, who specialize in treating liver tumors through interventional surgeries.

Endoscopes
The unit includes following devices: 16 endoscopes, 9 upper endoscopes, and 3 choledochectomy devices for performing precise ERCP surgeries.

Surgeries
The unit began actual operation in 2012. It consists of 3 operating rooms: a major operating room, a medium-sized operating room, and a small operating room.

intensive care
The unit currently includes 5 beds and is being developed to expand its capacity to 8 beds. The unit has an area of 120 square meters and is undergoing expansion to increase it to 250 square meters.

Pediatric Intensive Care
The establishment of this unit was approved in 2015, and it was equipped and prepared during the same year. The unit consists of 3 beds for intensive care with complete facilities.

Pediatric Liver Transplant Unit
The unit has been operating for ten years. It receives liver patients who have been scheduled for liver transplant surgery to prepare them for surgery.

Wilson’s Disease Unit
It aims to provide the latest diagnostic methods and treatment options for both children and adults suffering from this rare genetic disease.

Adult liver transplant unit
The unit started actual operation in 2012. This unit receives liver cases that have been determined to undergo transplant surgery in order to prepare them for the procedure.

Early Detection & Treatment Unit for Liver Tumors
It consists of professors from different specialties (internal medicine, surgery, interventional radiology, and oncology).

Research unit
The unit began medical research in 2016, and an ethics committee was formed to review medical research proposals.

Specialized Clinics
The unit started operating in 1999. The unit has 5 outpatient clinics, including adult gastroenterology and hepatology clinics.
